The central geographical location of Yazd made it one of the great crossroads on the Silk Road. A trading city on the edge of the Kavir Desert, its history is said to date back to the beginning of our era. The city is known for its Zoroastrian community but also for the obvious beauty of its earthen architecture. City of the desert borders, Yazd lives at its own pace.
