Teheran – Qeshm – Tehran – Kashan – Isfahan – Shiraz
Day 01: Departure from the destination to Tehran. [Welcome to Tehran]
Arrival in Tehran. Meet and greet service upon arrival at Tehran IK Airport by an English-speaking tour guide from 2001 Tour & Travel Agency. Hotel for xx nights.
Day 02: Tehran [Antiquity, modernity and hospitality]
After breakfast, we will discover the capital. The Carpet Museum with its exceptional collection from all parts of Iran, the Abghineh Museum, housed in an ancient palace with a splendid collection of glass, ceramic and crystal objects of the Achemenid period. In the afternoon, visit of the Archeological Museum.
Day 03: Teheran – Qeshm [From Capital to Persian Gulf]
Qeshm is the biggest Iranian island of the Persian Gulf. Lying in the Strait of Hormuz off the southern coast of Iran the island has an area of 1’445 km2, a length of 122 kms and a coastline totalling 362 kms. The island lies in a latitudinal band of the northern hemisphere where vegetation is typically tropical. Bandar Abbas, an important port on the Iranian mainland, is 22 kms distant. Morning departure for Qeshm with flight xxx. Upon arrival, we visit the fortress constructed in 1507 by the Portuguese admiral Afonso de Albuquerque. The site, known as Morna, covers an area of 11’000 m2, and contains the biggest fortress in the south of the island and houses the Geoparc Museum and the town’s bazaar.
Day 04 : Qeshm
Departure for the biggest natural salt grotto or cavern known to exist in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the grotto lies 90 kms from Qeshm, extends underground for 6 kms and its vault reaches the towering height of 237 m. It is a true wonder of nature. On the way back to Qeshm we visit the grotto of Kherbes, close to the village bearing the same name that dates from the Sassanid period. Perched on a rocky outcrop of the mountains we see the mysterious remains of a building which may have been a temple built to the glory of Anahita, goddess of water at the time of the Medes, or perhaps a Tower of Silence or even a fortress to protect the inhabitants. Return to Qeshm, night at the hotel.
Day 05: Qeshm
Departure for the forests of Hera where, with luck, we shall see migrating birds – pelicans and flamingos for example. Visit to the dockyards where the traditional sailing boats, dhows, are still constructed. Return to Qeshm and transfer to the airport for the Mahan Air flight to Teheran.
Day 06: Tehran – Kashan – Abyaneh- Isfahan [Kashan, the city of Persian Gardens]
Departure to Isfahan, via Kashan and traditional village of Abyaneh. At Kashan, visit of Bagh-e-Fin, a traditional Persian garden, visit of the Taba-Tabai, residence of a 19th century merchant, the archeological site of Sialk Hill and the Agha Bozorg Mosque. Arrival in Isfahan. Visit of 33 Arches, Shahrestan and Khajou Bridges. Check-in at hotel for xxx nights.
Day 07: Isfahan
Discovery of the wonders of Isfahan, one-time capital of Persia. A real jewel of architecture, often called the Florence of the Orient, with its cascades of blue, yellow and green mosaics, and its remarkable Naghsheh – Jahan square. Visits of the Royal Palace, the Imam Mosque, a magnificent example of Iranian mosques with four ivans, and the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque and to the east of the square a mosque without minarets of unique beauty, earlier called the Woman’s Mosque. Free time for a visit of the Bazaar at the end of the afternoon.
Day 08: Isfahan [Isfahan, one day in Paradise]
Visit of the Chehel Soutoun Palace, so-called 40 columns and the Armenian quarter with its Cathedral and Museum. Lunch in this area. In the afternoon, visit of Friday Mosque and famous bridges in Isfahan. In the evening, Isfahan by night with its wonderful illuminations.
Day 09: Isfahan – Shiraz [Zagreus Mountain chain]
Departure to Shiraz. Arrival to Shiraz. Visit of Shah Cheragh mausoleum. Check in Hotel for xx night.
Day 10: Shiraz-Persepolis-Shiraz [Land of roses]
Excursion to Persepolis, one of the greatest archeological sites of Iran, 60 km from Shiraz; visit of Naghshe-e-Rostam, 7 km from Persepolis; return to Shiraz, visit of the Darvazeh-Qoran a monument containing a Coran and that, according to tradition, wishes a good journey to travelers. Visit of the tomb of Khajoyeh Kerman, great poet of XIII, master of Hafez, visit of the Coranic school, the tombs of the poets Hafez and Sadi, visit of Nassir-al-Molk mosque. In the late afternoon, visit of the superb bazaar of Shiraz and its wonders – including the famous sweets of Shiraz
